Hello! Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Kanchan Koya. I have a Ph.D. in Biomedicine from Harvard University and a Health Coaching Certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

I've worked in the conventional medical field and I can tell you one thing for certain.

Food can be our best medicine.

A vast body of scientific evidence supports exactly this: we can prevent disease and heal ourselves through the food we eat and the lifestyle we live.

Now don't get me wrong. I absolutely believe in modern medicine, which has extended human life-span and reduced suffering. I am optimistic that new medicines will continue to add years to life and life to years.

But I also know that the food we eat and feed our children impacts EVERYTHING, particularly our physical and mental well being.

Natural spices are a treasure trove of health and healing and modern science is continuously validating ancient claims regarding their benefits.

As a mom, scientist and health coach, I am obsessed with what I feed my kid. Being Indian, I started offering my son spices at 7 months of age - cardamom pear puree, sweet potatoes with clove, butternut squash and chicken with ginger and nutmeg. Friends were intrigued, skeptical, curious!

"Wait a second?! Are spices really OK for babies?" "OMG that is so cool you give him cardamom! How can I do that?" "Potato leek puree with paprika? Ooooh!"

This was how Spice Spice Baby was born.

I am passionate about spices and their ability to heal and nourish and also elevate our kids' palates to new, exciting heights.

Experts resoundingly agree that babies and kids don't need to eat bland food. Moreover, a variety of flavours early-on expands their taste buds to accept new, nourishing, nutritious foods for the rest of their lives.

Putting on my scientist hat along with my apron and kid in tow, I work to inspire families to embrace spices, nature's pantry and pharmacy, in simple and delicious ways.

Join me on my mission. Let spices work their magic on your family table.

With love & SPICE,
Kanchan
